How To Apply For a Nickel Lab Puppy!
WE NO LONGER CARRY A WAITLIST.
PUPPY APPLICATION IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
We now hold applications on file and when you're ready for a puppy, you can contact us when a litter is born and we will choose from the available families for that specific litter.
You will need a current (within 1 year) application on file to be considered.
To apply:
1. Fill out the application below! It will automatically be sent to us.
2. Wait for a litter to be born!
4. If you are ready to take home a puppy when a litter is born, email us when we ask you to on social media/website!
5. The applicants that emailed us to let us know they are ready for a puppy will be considered for a puppy.
6. Wait for us to contact you to let you know if you've been chosen for a puppy in that litter!
7. Pay a $500 deposit when you have been chosen (the remaining balance is due when the puppies are 7 weeks old. Our puppies are currently $3800)
We can not guarantee a specific timeframe for a puppy. We only have 2-3 litters per year.
Also....we are looking for as much information about you as possible, so that we can get to know you and your family/lifestyle. Please fill out the application completely, so that we can get to know you! If you only put "yes" or "no" type answers, you will most likely not be considered for a puppy! The purpose is to get to know you, so we know if we want to place a puppy with you!

We try to match up our puppies the best that we can with our families according to what your family lifestyle is and what you are looking for in a new furry family member! We do puppy placement around 6-8 weeks of age, after we have been able to evaluate the puppies for potential keepers.
Our puppies go home around 8-9 weeks of age.

Nickel Labs tote bag filled with lots of fun toys, treats & a blanket that smells like their littermates
Bottled water for your trip in case your puppy gets thirsty
A bag of puppy food for a slow transition
Wood chips to place in the yard to help with potty training
A puppy packet of helpful puppy owner information

New Policy
We know unforeseen circumstances can happen, so we do allow you to move your deposit to a future litter ONCE before the puppies are 4 weeks old.
If you need to back out a second time, we will keep your deposit. You need to withdraw before the puppies are 4 weeks old. If you withdraw after the age of 4 weeks, we keep your deposit and you may not move forward with a future litter.
We don't take your deposit until you have been chosen for a puppy when the puppies are born. By this time, we want you to be 100% sure that you are ready for a puppy and won't back out on us or the puppy. This is only fair to the other families that were waiting, committed and should have been chosen, to us and to the puppy.

Picking Up Your Puppy
We do not ship puppies in cargo!
We do allow the puppies to fly with you in the cabin as a "carry on". We recommend first class, as it is much more comfortable for you and your puppy. We can meet you at the Grand Rapids & Traverse City airports free of charge. If we have to travel to Detroit, Chicago or Lansing to meet you, we do charge an additional fee, but we are happy to meet you at the airport.
You can choose a pick up date between 8-9 weeks of age. We will contact you to schedule a date that will work for you. If we have to keep your puppy additional days after the dates available for pick up, you will be charged an additional $50/day boarding fee.
